If you see this on the shelves or online, avoid it at all costs.

As the other reviewer below noted, this has absolutely no association with absinthe aside from what's on the label. It's basically like drinking rot-gut flavored vodka. And lightly flavored at that.

You'd do better buying a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 and calling it absinthe.

Blech.

This was the first "absinth" I ever had. Incredibly expensive and turned out to be artificially colored, non-louching, and simply unappealing in all regards. Stay away from Maktub!

They claim less anise and super-high thujone levels. Terrible.

Appearance: Neon green. Incredibly artificial.

Louche: What louche?

Aroma: Searing alcohol. No botanicals whatsoever.

Flavor: Straight alcohol. Nothing appealing here.

Mouthfeel: None. The watered-down alcohol post-louche is really not appealing.

Finish: Like drinking base alcohol. There is nothing to this.

Overall: Please do not even consider purchasing this. It was gifted to me... so not entirely my fault.
