I asked for a little bit of a discount on my next order but no, it's not his fault.

Dogfish Head Raison D'extra.

The Emperor of sweet brown ales at 21%, although thankfully rounder and softer than it used to be, so it's actually an enjoyable sipper.

Counelis stopped by tonight we had some Rat Merde Verte, Dragonfly, Clamsinthe,

10-cent blanche, Goddess of the Magic Valley Blanche, Nemesinthe and sinked a BdF.

Also sipped a sample of the Gentiane from Pernot, damn nice digestif, I will be getting some of this stuff.

T73 and I are enjoying a few glasses of Frankie Guy. Heavy on the anise but a pleasant end to a very long week. T73 likens it to a good spaghetti wine. Not a 1997 Ridge Geyserville but satisfying none the less. I agree.

You sinked the BDF? Why would you do that? And what the heck is Valley Magic Blanche?

Goddess of the Magic Valley,

it's a wonderful, fruity, blanche.

A delicate lady, with a well formed figure and a bewitching attitude.

You sinked the BDF? Why would you do that?

Neither of us could stand the taste of it compared to what else was on hand.

18+% 41 IBU according to Dogfish head.

Dogfish Head

They make some pretty damn good beer.

There's a sticker right on the bottle that reads 21% abv.

Perhaps there were different batches brewed at variable strengths.

That Sam Caglione is one whacky, unpredictable guy.

Nothing but cappucino yet :(

Have to pick up my daughter and her friends at the local pub tonight. Maybe I'll have a glass of Eichelberger if they do not call too late.

Champagne. A bottle of Veuve Cliquot my mum gave me a while ago. I thought that it should be for some special occasion, but then I skipped that thought; it leads to constant worry about whether an occasion is special enough, which ends up spoiling the pure drinking pleasure.

Then, said mum just announced today that she's gonna marry the guy she has been seeing the last year or so. I guess that's as good an occasion as any.

Gertz,

I understand your concern for special occasion sipping. Marriages, funerals, friends in town and so forth have been special to me in the past. Now, I find days ending in y to be special enough. It is all done in moderation though.

it's Blanchette tonight.

Thank you Hiram for that note.

"A handful", or two, is comprehensible, but does anyone know the definition for "a large bucket"? I think I've heard something like 1 bucket = four gallons, but I'm not sure about that.

A definition for "some" would also be nice. ;)

Docteurs?

Oh, yeah...

I wouldn't drink *anything* from Haiti.  Ugh.

Come to think of it, if it's extremely high grain alcohol, with the lip and exterior of the bottle soaked in bleach, poured through a filter into a shot glass that's been surgically sterilized, I might drink it on a bet.

Hey, I grew up in Haiti and you can drink stuff there. How else are you supposed to pickle your tapeworms?

Anyone ever try Moosedrool Brown Ale? I am partial to IPAs and Fullers in particular.

Could well be. The Sami used to be different from year to year as well.

I'll have to keep my eye out for the Raison_D'Extra.

Havn't seen it around here yet.

Moose Drool. Yum. Very regional, no? I am partial to Lang Creek's IPA. But we are spoiled with our local micro brewerys. T73 says Moose Drool will stand up to *any* British Brown Ale well. Especially on tap at Moose's Saloon.

I'll have 2 Newcastle Browns tonight. Then off to bed.

Does anyone have an online beer retailer to recommend?

Selection is quite limited here.

They don't ship to TN, so I'm not up on On Line Distirbutors.

10¢ Montpellier for starters tonight. Then off to hit the beer I guess. I'm hoping to make a short night of it and get a good nights rest tonight. Had to pick the FIL up from the hospital today and bring him home. Old age sux.

More prototype and then off to the Telluride Film Festival here. Oh and for you beer lovers, Deschutes Brewery is just down the road from me about 3 miles. It's too easy to stop by and fill up a fresh growler. I'm spoiled-
