Wine topic... not absinthe. Sorry.

Well... We're about 40 minutes away from 2007 here...

So, here's the wine list served at the New Years dinner here at Chateau Hartsmar this evening.

A welcoming drink and some small "snacks"; A Coteaux du Layon.

Then for the starter dish, a 1998 Vin Jaune.

For the main course, first - a Masi Amarone Costasera.

Second wine for the main course - Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz.

In roughly 35 minutes, it's time for the Trouillard Champagne. Brut Extra Selection.

Just now, 20 minutes ago, I enjoyed a glass of 1914 Pernod Fils.

Merry Fucking New Year to you all!

There's no "usually" as far as that stuff goes.

I believe Oxy used a different troop of flying monkeys than LDF's for this particular mission.

Hard to believe it wouldn't have arrived by now, though.

I'm still waiting for my 1914. How long does it take usually?

You'll have something to really look forward to now in the New Year. Look at it that way. Don't fret.

Keep in mind too that it is still the biggest Holiday Season, ya know? Many a packages flying around with the monkeys.

Yeah, my name almost was either Aloisius or Octave so I guess I should be thanking my parents. :(

I remember there was this Swedish guy around here once, who said he wasn't much of a wine drinker. Something must have happened to him in France.

Gertz: There's wine and then there's Wine... :) I know some people who always are good enough to treat that Swede to some wines he would never otherwise have known about. THAT happened in France. Problem is getting hold of many of those wines over here. BAH.

PV: The Layon was very appreciated by everyone. A million thanks!

These things happen, I know that for sure. Not only to Swedes.

Wow. What a scathing review. Acidic but fun to read.
