  1. Right on the money, Jay. My personal boycott of VdT absinthe started with the earlier thread. Shortly thereafter, I was buying absinthe at Verte d'Absinthe in Paris...I had intended to pick up a couple of the Clandestine offerings that are not available here in the States. Instead, I bought one bottle of La Coquette and one of L'Enjoleuse. I'm done with Swiss absinthe...except that which is produced outside of VdT. Matter's products are better than most of the VdT absinthe anyway.
  2. I was in France a while back and brought home a couple bottles of absinthe...I used "Wine Skin" brand bottle protectors and carried the bottles back in my checked bags. I declared two bottles of "spirits" to Customs and they gave me no trouble. That said, I wonder whether Customs regulations have caught up with the rest of the U.S. govt...if they had decided to inspect my luggage, might they have seized the absinthe? I really don't know.
  3. I wasn't aware that Paul Nathan drank absinthe.
  4. Those aren't wallpapers, they're ads for LTV.
  5. Just don't try it with cinnamon.
  6. Holy Crap! Did I just see the Naked Bottom with Butterfly? Nice to see you around, Nymphadora. Congrats, Hiram, and thank you, for a great forum...I think you've really made a difference with this effort. Edit: I think this calls for one more glass, by way of celebration...yes, I think it does.
  7. Let's seem 'em, Retrogarde! Sbmac...cool banjo, but it needs strings!
  8. Yes...protected by the Holy Chain Saw and the Holy Invisible (well, actually just Amazingly Well Concealed) Bridge...and, I suppose, the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch....
  9. It's technically Saturday morning, but it feels like Friday night... La Coquette for me!
  10. Not a bad start...welcome to the Wormwood Society. Since you asked about other options, may I suggest Duplais Verte and Vieux Pontarlier? Both fall into the category of absinthe "best buys." Other top choices: Marteau, Doubs Mystique, Roquette...
  11. Absinthe avuncular? Luscious Oily Lesbians! Seriously, though, I too am eager to give it a try.
  12. Any chance of getting an early look at the proofs for the label? Or is that against the regs?
  13. For the first time in about 2 years...Jade Edouard. I'd almost forgotten how much I like this absinthe (and flying monkeys).
  14. Oh, yes, we know about that place. Welcome.
  15. Wait, what ? Coming to Paris and we didn't have a glass together ? My apologies! It was a short-notice business trip, and I never thought to look up any fellow WS members there. Another time, perhaps? Anyway, nice pics!
  16. This is never easy to answer. If I had to pick one brand, I would say Jade PF 1901. If allowed to give my top five, I would likely add Roquette 1797, Doubs Mystique, Walton Waters, and Marteau (all vertes, you may have noticed).
  17. If you like Lucid, I suspect you'll love Pacifique. Though not my favorite absinthe, the latter is very refined and smooth, with a hint of spice in the finish. It's been quite a while since I tasted any Lucid, however. What do you think of it?
  18. Started with Pacifique...now moving on to La P'tite.

    question to WS

I take your point. I generally never swear in any language other than English, for that very reason.
