Ambiance: A small, yet not uncomfortable space in Adams Morgan. Nice decor. Can get a bit loud when busy.

Selection: one of the best in the DC area. A substantial number of good brands; local, domestic, and import. I'd give it a 5, but they do carry several brands that are notorious for trying to associate absinthe with drugs.

Service: No fire here. They do it the right way. They have several fountains arranged around the bar and nice glassware including your traditional reservoir glass. Every once in a while, you'll get a glass that isn't diluted quite as much as should be, but they also provide you with a porron (a traditional Catalan wine decanter that can be used with ice-cold water to pour a thin stream into the glass) with which you can dilute further.

Knowledge: Amy and her staff know a good deal about absinthe. They also host regular absinthe education seminars with local experts on the topic, including our Review Editor. Further, they even carry copies of the Wormwood Society education flier to help educate patrons.

Quality of service: the drinks (both traditional absinthe, as well as cocktails) are delicious. Their food is also VERY good.

Price: very affordable for the quality and the location.

I highly recommend anyone fond of absinthe to check the place out.
