I tried my Hedricks gin last night via the G&T with cucumber. It was AWESOME!! If I can get to the store today and get some vermouth, I'll give doc's martini a try tonight.

I'm thinking about fixing myself one of those as well. The DC weather is too hot and the humidity is unbelievably oppressive today (who am I kidding, it always is!). A nice cucumber martini will hit the spot...

Last night s dinner of Argentine rib eye and polenta was well washed with a 95 Brunello del Montalcino that I had picked up in a small local store that was mismarked - same price as the 2003, less than 10 euro, needless to say I took all of the 95's they had at that price.

 

Tonight will be the end of a bottle of Kallnacker, I seem to prefer the Bleu's to the vert's in the hot summer.

Absolutely! Same here. It's insanely hot over here in England right now, and we are just not used to it. It's like something from "The Day the Earth Caught Fire" The roads are melting and people are running screaming into the ocean!

 

But I am fine, reclining in the shade, in my garden, sipping a chilled glass of the "White Fairy". My idea of heaven!

Les Bleus (no apostrophe for a plural) is the French national football team ;).

 

By the way, "La Bleue" usually refers to modern clear absinthes from the Val de Travers with a common flavour profile - an absinthe that is merely clear is more properly called "une blanche".

Lots of hot air, of which I am in no short supply of.

I slept in til 4 this morning so I didn't have time to make a decent cup. I had to settle with work coffee.
