What ya drinking tonight?

Recommended Posts

It is not that much of a shame, not tonight at least. I have no cream nor mussels. Got some wine and cheese and mustard and some smoked herring tho. I guess that will have to do for a meal along with some crackers.

;) That it still is, would pair better with an Islay Scotch tho, but the absinthe has left me unable to enjoy a scotch for the remainder of the night, but a 2004 bourdoex should suffice. Not a bad vintage at all ;D

First time ever: I had a glass of Ridge Verte at the North Bay Grill.

Too. Fucking. Cool.

They're some good folks. We like that place and yes it's way fucking cool.

I just started sipping tonight and Pacifique was the only thing that would satisfy my thirst this evening.

Nice, Joe!

I just opened a northern porter after two weeks of resting in the bottles. It's damn tasty. Lots of chocolate, coffee and caramel notes and a nice balance of tettnang hops.

Fly fishing with the bears sound like fun!

Yeah, Baubel, home brewed. It needs to rest a bit more.

Joe, I can't even imagine how awesome it is to sip your creation at the local Friendly Tavern. Cool!

Baubel, I hear you on them bones. I would probably fracture a femur just looking at a snowboard!

Snowboarding noobs are more prone to wrist and forearm injuries. It helps to fall uphill. :wave2:

I'd recommend skis if you'd rather blow out a knee or break a leg. Perhaps we should ask A.A. which injury was best for her?

The bar manager at The Bay is a fan of the Gin Rickey. Silvertip will be featured on their new cocktail menu and as of next week Ridge Verte will be their absinthe offering. Life is good.

Just a little bit of awesome. Great restaurant with great booze. Can't ask for much more than that. I wish I were there, but otherwise the world is right.

Let's go fly fishing with the bears instead.

FOR the bears, you mean. You almost caught one last time.

So am I.

I'm enjoying a mystery sample brought over by Jay the other night.

The pre-louche color is shockingly amber-y, like my favorite olive oil.

Now time for a pate banh mi.

Yay Saturday!

Sam Smith Yorkshire Stingo.

Nothing like the Watney's Stingo of old. The color is a particularly refractive cognac/amber, and there are esters of raisin, plum, cherry, treacle, toffee, vanilla, plum pudding in hard sauce, and oak. The body is medium and oily, and the flavor and carbonation are very soft.

It's a sweet brew, on balance, but never cloying, with just enough flowery hop dryness in the finish, and a lot of finesse.

Was drinking Buffalo Trace bourbon and Red Bull Cola (love RB Cola..). Ya ya ya, shouldn't be mixing with the good stuff, however I always buy the good stuff :P

BUT ... I just got back from the store and bought 2 bottles of Evan Williams and a 2 liter of knock off coke for cheaper than the one bottle of Buffalo Trace!

Having a glass of Pacifique and taking off my boots.

Just got in from meeting friends at the casino. A very good night, lots of fun. Now I'm ready to relax, drink, then sleep. :)

I was surprised to discover Mansinthe on sale in Montana. Gotta support the young absinthe market, right? I hadn't tried it before but coming from Matter, I expected it to be good. It is. I think Ridge can hang right with it (I was drinking both) but I wouldn't turn my nose up at another glass.
