I saw the photos a few hours ago when I was showing my brother the photo of the flammable drum.

 

 

 

Last night I had some VdF and then I sipped on some Perique.

The first official Ridge prototype.

It's a bit thick (imagine that from me) but seems to have promise. I need to wait a few more days, reassess and tweak accordingly.

Wasn't even thinking about a drink last night until my daughter started juicing a lemon for part of the dinner she was working on. Grabbed a twist off of the leftover peel and made a Rittenhouse Sazerac. Yum!

Thanks. I expect a little grief because I tend to lean toward a thicker louche and my aspersions cast at thinly louching absinthe is well documented. There are producers here (like Gwydion and Marc) that have successfully captured that perfect balance between thin and thick (and I love what they have done) but why try to duplicate what they have already mastered? I'll opt for what I personally prefer: a nice thick louche transporting a complex herbal balance of root, seed and leaf. If I'm very fortunate, a few good folks might find my attempts worthy of an occasional glass, too. We'll see. :cheers:

Definitely! Nice work. :cheers: Time to celebrate a bit. Grabbed closest bottle, A.O. Spare, then BdF (a disappointment after the Spare), and now I find the PF1901 (Sep '07) is supreme. But I better ease off since Kathy wants some champagne to celebrate the New Year so I dug out a bottle of Jean Laurent and plan on having DITA's with Doub's. Still not sure how this will all work out, so many opened and unopened bottles. :cheers: La P'tite definite improvement over the BdF. :cheers:

Earlier today I had a rusty nail (maybe around 3 pm), and a Duplais. I just finished a gin and tonic (Plymouth + Fever Tree). What's next? :mbanana:

I'm about to conduct a very important scientific experiment--a comparison between the Singapore Sling and the Straights Sling. I will report back on the results shortly. :cheers:

Tasting both now. Very different flavor profiles. The traditional Singapore Sling is very beachy and quaffable, while the Straights Sling is more of a complex slow sipper. Either way, both are delicious in their own rights. Now to pop open the champagne.
