What ya drinking tonight?

Recommended Posts

I was able to pick it up at the local PLCB Wine & Spirits store at the retail price (around $50). It just appeared on the shelf about a week ago.

A nice big batch of Manhattans to kick this wimpy cold's ass. I hate colds.

Did it work? I'm willing to give it a shot!

Egg nog is good stuff for sure.

I started with Vieux Pontarlier then went to an unlabeled verte back to the Vieux Pontarlier and now I'm sipping some PF 1914. It's going to be an interesting Christmas eve.*wink*

Merry Christmas All, Cheers!

Ahem! Absomphe....buddy, is there anyway you could send me some of The Abyss?

Pleeeeeze!

I feel so dirty. *wink*

edit: I was sent a couple bottle of the Abyss by some nice folks last year and it was wonderful.

Sorry, Bill...I have exactly one bottle left, and that one has been relegated to the stash of aging strong beers that I have put aside for a future local tasting at our favorite local watering hole. I only wish the one East Bumfuck supermarket that carries a decent selection of beer would order more than one case a season of the really good stuff.

Of course, I don't have any VP on hand, so our envy is mutual. ;)

Edit: I think this year's is a little smoother than the last two batches, and that's probably why it sold out even quicker.

I've moved on to a Martinez and then a very nice plymouth martini. I had some mead in there somewhere.

Probably going to be ugly in the morning.*smile*

It feels good now though.

I can't feel my fingers!

Cheers!

Just finishing up my first glass of the VP. It has to be the last one for the evening.

Unlike most people, I have to work in the morning.

Somebody's got to keep the world running while the rest of y'all are having fun. ;)

With it being a paid holiday, I get eight hours of straight pay. If I actually have to show up, I get paid time and a half. So, if I pull a full eight hours, my effective pay rate is 2 1/2 times normal.

I know I have about three hours of work to do, but I think I'll find a few extra things to do, too.

Thanks for keeping the world spinning for us. I hope you get some down-time, too.

The gin has been retired in favor of a bourbon nightcap. With a little luck, Maggie and I will finally get to play on the skis tomorrow. Plenty of snow with highs in the upper 20s? Beautiful!

In the 50's here finally, just took a walk around the neighborhood. It's damp but a beautiful evening.

Had to fill the sport bottle up with a double louche, didn't want to break a glass.

Half passed tanked here...

Good night all!

I'm just heading into the kitchen here at my parents' house to louche up a glass of Lucid. The Vieux Pontarlier didn't arrive before I left home to come up for the holiday, so I just grabbed a bottle at random from the shelf - and I didn't want to bring the good stuff, since I knew it wouldn't be ideal Absinthe consuming conditions. I mean, I gotta use a wine glass for my drink here!

But at least I'll get to head to the WSLCB store and pick up some Voyager Gin on Friday, so not all is lost!

You don't have to taunt us.

My Santy stocking was stuffed with Ri, Baby Rye and 18 Year Old Saz, among other things. I guess I was a good boy after all!

Just shared a couple of glasses of Lucid with a friend who bought me the bottle for Christmas.

Great stuff....I'm doomed. If the reviews I've read saying Lucid is kind of an ordinary absinthe are true,well..... when I get my paws on the extraordinary ones.....doomed...my heart now belongs to la fee verte.

Please don't tell my mead maker.

You'll fit in well with a lot of other lost souls here. This comes from another mead maker!

When you get a chance, slide over to the Newcomer Introductions so we can welcome you all good and proper.
