What ya drinking tonight?

Recommended Posts

I just popped the cap on my very last bottle of my home brewed Ruby Keeler Keelover Ginger Mead from 1990.

I'm astounded at how gracefully it's aged, and more than a bit nostalgic for those early home brewing days of our Buffalo home brew club, Brewbonic Plague. :cheerz:

It's a nice thought, but my brewing days are way behind me now.

Besides, back in the day, there wasn't much craft product to choose from.

These days, it's a very different story, dontcha think?

Water. I'm drinking water. Standing in solidarity with the Mrs. who is having surgery in a week and is firmly on the wagon until after the procedure is over and she's off pain meds. I'm getting soft. Save me!

I hope all goes well with the surgery.

Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

Very nice surprise from New Holland Brewing.

Light but creamy body, strong notes of chocolate, vanilla, toffee, marshmallow, light roast, and a nice level of bourbon.

Heat is undetectable at 11% abv., and the finish is long and satisfying, if just a wee bit on the overly sweet side.

For four bucks a 12 ounce bottle, this is definitely one I'd buy again...and again.
