What ya drinking tonight?

Recommended Posts

That stuff is a regular offering down here in FL now. Pretty good but not as special down here now when you can walk in any time of the year and buy it.

Celebrating Pop's 82nd here in Chicago with a bottle of Chilean cab. 2012 Carmen Gran Reserva. Reasonably priced and a robust, fluid taste.

A bit on the warm side here (83 F yesterday alone) but it's October so we're ready for the heavier blends.

Yo AJ, the music thread is that way, dude. ---------->

Yeah, what is he smoking, anyway?

Sorry, psycho-cyclist, I didn't mean to confuse you any more than you already are. :secret2:

woodchuck reserve barrel aged cider.

oak, maple syrup, honey, and tart carbonated apple juice. kind of has a cabernet wine like quality, but definitely on the sweeter side. not a huge cider fan, but this seems slightly better than most.

if to understand is to stand under, than to be confused is to have fused a con, which makes absolutely no sense. still, we find it better to not make sense than to stand under anything or anyone. :cheerz:

Victory - Berliner Weisse With Elderflower

Like a tart chamomile tea doused in carbonated lemon juice. Floral lactic acid at the forefront with some discernible wheat and grain in the background. Not too bad, but we've had better.

You mean you've never stuck a lit stick of dynamite in a convict's pocket, and watch him explode?

Damn, son, you don't know what you're missing!

Oh, what the hell, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so...

Another sublime Dark Star today.

victory festbier

smells of dead autumn leaves with a deep nuttiness and earthiness, almost oyster-shell like. tastes exactly the same. maybe mix in some old cigar-leaf tobacco, too. speaking of which, this may pair well with a smoke. going to crack out the pipe and some peterson's old dublln to see what that'll do to this brew.

pabst old tankard ale

hop haze look and aroma. typical malt and bready notes that you like to find in an ale of this caliber. grapefruit rind mixes with the malt to make a marmalade type flavor. not as good as their ballantine burton ale, but a fine pint of "quaffable courage" nonetheless.
