Absomphe Report post Posted April 17, 2015 Avery Uncle Jacob's Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Wonderfully nuanced and complex for such a heavy hitter (16.9% abv). Deep, dark chocolate, rum, bourbon, vanilla, oak, persimmon, date, fig, coffee, rhubarb, and toasted coconut. Amazing stuff...much better than their far less balanced, coffee enhanced Tweak. Absomphe Report post Posted April 19, 2015 Boulevard Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Kinda like liquid coffee ice cream with the additional fruitiness of rye. Interesting, and very enjoyable.

Songcatcher Report post Posted April 20, 2015 A '13 Edouard. It's taken on a kind of a swampy, muddy green color towards the bottom quarter of the bottle, but still, probably the best bottle of absinthe I've ever bought. Gonna be a sad, sad day when it's gone. Absomphe Report post Posted April 21, 2015 Go for it! I think any of those charming gentlefolk connected to that brewery should attempt a human testicle beer next. Using their own, of course. Fremont Bourbon Abominable Coffee and Cinnamon Edition. Followed by an Uncle Jacob's chaser.

Absomphe Report post Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) Crooked Stave Nightmare on Brett Grand Cru aged in Leopold Whiskey Barrels. Perhaps the most intense (and best) sour wild ale I've ever sipped...even more incredible than the New Belgium 15 aged in Leopold's apple brandy barrels. Those Leopold brothers sure know a thing or two about barrels, that's for sure. I followed that masterpiece up with a glass of Lagunitas High Westified coffee infused, bourbon and rye barrel aged imperial stout. It's delicious, and almost in the same league with Fremont Kentucky Dark Star. Edited April 26, 2015 by Absomphe
