What ya drinking tonight?

Recommended Posts

Midnight Sun Berserker Imperial Stout.

It's been a few years since I've savored this nectar, and I'd forgotten why I would choose it over all others (even The Abyss) as my desert island pick.

Last night I sampled some 1950's Pernod Tarragona. It was better than I expected, sort of like a half-baked preban. I might have to buy a bottle if I can find one at a reasonable price.

A drop of VS would make it an even finer cup.

Just sayin'.

I find that logic difficult to argue with SC... Speaking of coffee, and more recently of Marteau, I decided to go with a Salut Soleil to brighten up the place on this dark evening.

Tasting the 2013 now.

A total 180 from Berserker.

Basically creamy, heavily roasted chocolate/ coffee ice cream flavor, which is terrific, but there is no discernible barrel character at all.

Guess I'll have to wait for Parabola to have it all in a single bottle, Bill.

Yeah I'm missing liquid solutions around this time of year when they once shipped me 26 bottles of that black oil. So sad they don't any longer.

I scoured some of the local booze shops the other day looking for some Abyss. We usually don't get it until after Thanksgiving, but I'll be keeping an eye and ear out.

Brews berry mead sounds interesting.

Another Salut Soleil for me! I've long enjoyed this cocktail on weekend mornings, but it's becoming quite a favorite winter evening warmer for me this year. Especially given the paucity of soleil to salut.
