I've never tried it but from the reviews...

Although I have to admit I just made plans to go to a local bar that serves Grand Absente (ONLY Grand Absente) just because it is one of the very rare bars in the area that serves any absinthe at all. And.. well I just have to taste them all at some point.

Well... maybe not them ALL.

Anyway, I just had a Leopold's.

Ridge V.....supoib!!

Indeed. which is what I"m having with corned beef brisket, arsh taters(yesah thats how I say it) cornbread and cabbage.

Corsair red louched with hotel melted ice.

Been there, done that

The room it smelled heavy of drinkin',

and the sad silent song, made the hour twice as long,

as I waited for that sun to go sinkin'.

Quick, everybody...I think the manatee needs an intervention, before he loses his palate forever!

Yes, I'm Krinkles the Clown on an absinthe a beer bender.

You got a problem with that?

Last glass of Pacifique.

Lots of little specky sediment in the bottom.

Crow, if you are into (like REALLY into) Star Anise then you will LOVE Grand Absente.

No, not really into star anise. Still... no thrills for the cautious.

And about the last glass of Pacifique: I always get that too. I like it. Just like I love that last glass or two of murky Ridge V.

VC. The dose was as much as my usual full size absinthe glass. Long couple of months worth of testing.

Kind of trippy to contemplate the various threads woven into the rich tapestry of human culture.

I couldn't have put it better. Quite sublime.

Thank you kindly for the compliment, MassaPC! :)

Save the Manatee. Thank you.
Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

Duplais V then Duplais Balance... while making fried calamata olives. Going to a Greek Easter party.

Bring on the Metaxa... (best mixed with champagne). :cheerz:

Yup, I'm definitely buzzed, although I still seem to be spelling and punctuating better than Miguel does sober.

I is gluging a glass of niu ol' style checksinthe. :)

The look and mouthfeel reminded us of quality egg nog. Thick, creamy, and very tasty. Along with the spices, it reminded us of Christmas.

Truly unique and remarkable stuff. Me ful of happyness.

Sux seeing OK showing up on evening news. Putting in a word for ya Bill.

It may seem odd to some folks but I was showing my neighbors our new storm shelter. Brand new!

Had to make sure they knew how to get in the house if we weren't home and so forth.

To me, it's the little things that make me happy.

And I was drinking water last night. :(
