Yes ma'am! Plus, Rock Chalk Jayhawk, KU!!!

Might you be a fellow Jayhawker as well as a fellow April Fool?

Indeed I am. Got my PhD there in 2005. They broke my heart losing the other night.

Cool! I mean about your PhD, not about them losing or your broken heart. But I know of an emerald elixir that will make you feel better!

I got my BFA in 1988.

Have you been to Free State Brewery? My Brother-in-law is a partner there.

Will pass from change to change
As emerald clouds to opal,
And yet nothing will change?

Still he drinks opaline.

KU? My mom got her MS there. Printed her thesis on a dot matrix printer right above my bedroom.

Cool!

How old were you at the time? Did you live in Lawrence? I sure do miss that town.

We lived in Topeka where I graduated from Washburn Rural HS in 1985. My dad was going to school at the Meninger's in NW Topeka, so we lived in the west side of town. My mom drove to Lawrence to go to class. She had a reputation as a tough TA. All three of us graduated about the same time.

Some Allagash White's are very nice after a day of fishing, went well with dinner. Tempted to grab my last bottle of World Wide Stout for dessert, but I think I'll save it for more of a celebratory occasion to accompany a fine cigar. :g:

I'm thinking about a bottle of The Abyss 2010 and one of 2011.

We'll know more later.

I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

Up way too early (250AM) but couldn't fall back so decided to embrace my Friday head on with some coffee. Morning!

My shipment of Sauvage arrived this morning, and I'm having my first taste now.I didn't get to try the first batch,so I can't compare, but i'll be really surprised to read any negative comments about this.I did a high slow drip, and it turned out nice and creamy.I'm not knowlegable or articulate enough to give an "expert" review, but this is the most flavorful, sophisticated, and enjoyable absinthe I've had yet.A little sweet at first, then a beautiful dance of herbs, with a nice numbing, lingering wormwood finish. It's gonna be a kicker tonight!!

An Old Stock Ale which stands up reasonably well to those Kushan RISs.

St Peter's Old Style Porter. It's pretty hoppy, is that good bitter enough for Good Friday? ;)

I found a small sample of PF 1910, yes, pre-ban. I am enjoying it like it was the last I have........it is.

After this, it's back to La Fee and Lucid. I shall weep openly.

It's been so long since I've had any of this. It is an absolute delight. Dayum, this is delicious.
I would dearly love to have more to share. Fine aroma, creamy mouthfeel and the tiniest sip is bliss.

Y'all have a good evening.

VC, my first taste of absinthe in several years & it was quite enjoyable. A tad peppery for my taste, but it's all that's on the shelves in PA. It was my wife's first try at absinthe and she gave a big thumbs up for further purchases.
