Finishing up the day with a Manhattan and s spicy Jamaican beef patty, since my neighbor passed out from the days drinking.

New Holland's The Poet, an oatmeal stout. It's really good!

Midnight Sun Arctic Devil Barleywine, followed by Kulshan Brewing Shuksan Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

The first is always superlative, while the second is very pleasant, but undistinguished.

Yes, I'm Krinkles the Clown on an absinthe a beer bender.

You got a problem with that?

Leinenkugel's Snowdrift Vanilla Porter

First time I've had porter and, I have to say, I really like the dark, malty taste. I'm not a big fan of vanilla (I bought this mainly for my husband, who's coming home from military training soon, yay!) but I decided to try it anyway. The vanilla makes for a nice accent and isn't as overwhelming as I afraid it would be. I might have to go buy more so Husband will have some when he gets home!

I take it back...the whiskey flavor is subtle in the Barrel Aged Shuksan, but it's definitely there, and it's actually one the most nuanced whiskey additions to a beer that I've ever had the pleasure to sip.

Silver City Barrel Aged Old Scrooge 2014. Very pronounced (yet also gentle and, again, nuanced) bourbon flavors over a somewhat sweet cherry-like base beer. Not great, but tasty.

New Belgium 'La Terroir' dry-hopped sour, as a counterpoint to a Golden Road 'Wolf Among Weeds' IPA. Bout to open a growler of Hop Jitsu from Beachwoods in Long Beach. By the way, look out for the Beachwoods Blendry Series of sour beers coming soon. Mark my word, it will be historical  :secret2:

I drank a lot of different things last night... I don't remember exactly what. I just know that I woke up laying where I was drinking this morning. It's a good thing that I have a relaxing job.
