An Ode to 2005/2006 New Years WS Event

It called out to me, the Emerald City's refrain
like dark lines poetic from Rimbaud or Verlain.

First time meetings with old friends, ironic tis true
but hale and well met over fine Suisse LaBlue.

There were splendid HG's rife with wormwood's strong bite
no Czech anus swill, no sugar alight.

The New Year was born full of promise and hope
though already I face that with which I must cope.

I can't seem to shake or mentally shelf
the image of that chick abusing herself.
Litany against fear of Absinthe - I must not fear Absinthe. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my Absinthe. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the Absinthe has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yes, I'm Krinkles the Clown on an absinthe a beer bender.

You got a problem with that?

Don't listen to those who would water down ahhh burn up the true history of absinthe, rather research the facts to determine the significance of the Green Fairy. Those who can't do it themselves, get their kicks trying to undermine those who can.

Does anyone know of any British poets known to drink absinthe?

Ernest Dowson.

If you don't like anise at all, you're not likely to care for any decent absinthe, as absinthe is an anise flavored drink. It's kind of like asking if there are any good beers that don't taste like hops or malt.----Hiram

I'm seeing mirages;
Pools of absinthe,
with floating sugar cubes within,
trees made of absinthe spoons surounding them,
Green Ferri is louching all about
I'm seeing mirages, you should never doubt.
