Hi everyone,

I'm a food journalist for a radio show on fermentation and I've been looking into doing a piece on absinthe-making. I heard from a few home-makers and proprietors that there is a sort of controversy in the absinthe-making community about the best way to make absinthe, or on what is the authentic way to make it. Can anyone shed any light on this, or does anyone have any other information?

Aside from that, are there any home-makers that would like to talk about their methods, potentially for radio?

Thank you!

Feel free to contact me. Typically discussion about home-made absinthe is a non-starter here due to home distilling is illegal in the USA, and dumping herbs in vodka doesn't make absinthe.

If you don't like anise at all, you're not likely to care for any decent absinthe, as absinthe is an anise flavored drink. It's kind of like asking if there are any good beers that don't taste like hops or malt.----Hiram
