Hi, this is Jason in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA (previously Orlando, Florida). Been reading reviews here for several years, so thanks to all who have contributed them. Besides an obvious interest in absinthe, I'm into tropical plants (palms, orchids, and some aroids). Currently devoting most of my time to raising an 18 month old son and a six year old step-daughter. Unfortunately the wife isn't that into absinthe, but she'll share a glass with me from time to time. So far my experience is limited to the following: Lucid, Mansinthe, Vieux Carre, Vieux Pontarlier, Absent Minded (Wigle Distilling in Pittsburgh), Pacifique, and Jade 1901. I thought the Lucid and Mansinthe were relatively similar in that they didn't seem to be really complex and left the tongue rather numb, the Vieux Carre was sweet, Vieux Pontarlier seemed to have a butterscotch kind of aftertaste at first that eventually faded after several months from opening (I liked it better the older it got), Absent Minded was the mintiest of any I tried, the Pacifique seemed the most 'herbal' tasting to me if that makes any sense, and the Jade was just fantastic. I look forward to communicating with other absinthe lovers!
Greetings from Pittsburgh
