opivy Report post Posted March 6, 2015 So I never got a chance to try this guy... Which is very disappointing Based from what I read I think it would be an absolute favorite I see now that it's still made but some changes have been made... I can't stand rum I absolutely detest it.. And the mint is gone? The original obsello sounded like a wet dream to me How does the new one compare? And is there still anywhere to buy the original? fingerpickinblue Report post Posted March 6, 2015 In my opinion, you can do a lot better than either version. I still have a bottle of the original lying around and the only thing I've used it for for years is to show people what tails smell and taste like.
Alan Moss Report post Posted March 6, 2015 I see now that it's still made but some changes have been made... How does the new one compare? And is there still anywhere to buy the original? I'm pretty sure that both 1 and 2 are now out of production. There are a few places online that say they have the Spanish version, but not all retailers update product details. OMG_Bill Report post Posted March 6, 2015 I still have an unopened bottle of the first run. Found it just the other day.
TheLoucheyMonster! Report post Posted March 6, 2015 . Bought one here maybe 8 mo. ago. and a few months latter still saw quite a few on the shelf. So I can confirm that they had the first version. http://www.wineandliquordepot.com/ You can't order on web, but they take phone and fax orders. Remember to ask them to look at the label.for the word 'grape' (*that is true of any place you see it on the web, as many places are not aware of a change) The last one I got was quite tails-y, as FPB mentioned, and the fresh mint taste had turned a little veggital. sardonix Report post Posted March 7, 2015 I enjoyed the original, it was the go-to bottle for my annual trip to the Keys. The new version, not so much. Didn't know they stopped making that one too.
baubel Report post Posted March 9, 2015 I've never tried the new version, but I did enjoy the first round. There was a flavor that I attributed to rose geraniums that I found a little overpowering, and I noticed it more as the bottle got lighter.
