Greetings to All

A Few weeks ago I watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother (http://en.wikipedia....erfect_Cocktail) and when the episode ended I just had to Google Absinthe. The More I read the More interested I became. Everything from the myths (or truths) to the preparation ritual, even the Movie Euro trip was teasing me to get some (completely random coincidence that I watched that movie recently) . I just had to get a bottle. I went to my local store and found 2 brands, one of which was pere kermann's absinthe, and based on online reviews I would have a better experience drinking mouth wash (don't know if that is true). I din't want to destroy my first Absinthe experience so I didn't buy any.

Then I discovered that a local distillery makes (hopefully)good Absinthe (http://wormwoodsocie...rican-absinthe/) So I ordered a bottle of the Field of Dreams Absinthe and it arrived today :holiday: . Me and my friends are gonna try it out this weekend and I can't wait to chase some fairies.

By the way, my friends have no idea what lies in store for them :drunk:

And I will give some feedback as soon as I stop chasing them Green Fairies around.

:cheerz:

Yes, I'm Krinkles the Clown on an absinthe a beer bender.

You got a problem with that?

I have the feeling you're going to be sadly disappointed.

The room it smelled heavy of drinkin',

and the sad silent song, made the hour twice as long,

as I waited for that sun to go sinkin'.

Perhaps, but let's not forget the placebo effect.

Aye... and enough alcohol and anyone will see faeries... or something.

But yeah - the only faeries you see will be your own inner demons.

Hey all, sorry for the late reply.

I'll have to buy the "mouthwash absinthe" someday and compare it to the Field of Dreams before I can give proper feedback. But for what its worth, I had a great time and enjoyed the absinthe. I was amazed by the the louche (even though I knew it would happen) and I wish I could upload some before & after pics to show you all what the Field of Dreams Absinthe actually looks like. The fragrance of the absinthe filled my entire apartment and its something that cannot be put into words, but I guess it smelled the same as any other absinthe out there.

We didn't see any fairies (as expected) but I get the feeling that if I had a glass or two more then I would have turned into a one

Its going to take some time to finish the bottle (as I'm not a heavy drinker) but I will definitely buy another bottle sometime in the future, and at the end of the day all I can say is

It sounds like you're off to a great start.

I'm not a heavy drinker either but I'm an enthusiastic taster!
