Hello everyone. I'm excited to finally join this forum after lurking for some time.

My gateway drink to absinthe was The Sazerac. It all started when I went to New Orleans for the first time. We found a bar where the bartenders were passionate about absinthe.

I decided to take the plunge and purchase my first bottle of absinthe. I am also a gin lover, one of my favorites is Blue Coat, made by Philadelphia Distilling. When I found out that they also distilled Vieux Carre, I knew I had to try it. After reading reviews, it became my first bottle. I can't wait to try more. I have a feeling this is going to be a very expensive interest.

Hope to be able to contribute! Cheers everyone

If you don't like anise at all, you're not likely to care for any decent absinthe, as absinthe is an anise flavored drink. It's kind of like asking if there are any good beers that don't taste like hops or malt.----Hiram

Welcome to the Forum from another fan of Philadelphia Distilling.  "A very expensive interest?"  Nominated for understatement of the day. ;)

Welcome, yes, I am also fairly new, and it is becoming expensive quickly. But so far it's a great trip...  :drunk:
