I've stumbled into absinthe through my best friend who loves the romance attached. Me? I don't know much about it AT ALL apart from that I really enjoy the taste of some of the ones I've tried so far - LeMercier, San Antoine and Mata Hari (unsweetened for me). I know these ones you guys would probably consider "average" ones at best, but I want to keep trying more. I also like real herby digestives ever since my mum gave me a nip when I had a stomach ache.

I'm in Australia, if other Aussies have advice and tips about buying it from down here, I'm all ears  :worshippy:

Welcome!

Lemercier was one of the first absinthe I bought, waaaay back in the day.  Not really absinthe, but close enough, and basic enough not to lead most potential consumers astray.  Mata Hari kind of lies in the same boat for me.

Now, St. Antoine on the other hand.  That's a QUALITY beverage you've got there.  Great stuff.

I'd say that's where most of us began. Welcome to the club Bub.   :drunk:

The room it smelled heavy of drinkin',

and the sad silent song, made the hour twice as long,

as I waited for that sun to go sinkin'.

Definitely get your hands on a bottle of Reverie.  It's good stuff!  I know the Grand Wormwood they use rather intimately.

Welcome to the Forum.
