Unfortunately I am complete newbie when it comes to Absinthes and I am worried that I will pick the wrong one which you leave a bad impression on both me and my friend, however I did some research on this site and I came to conclusion, that I will probably choose between Mansinthe,St.Antoine and La Grenouille, all of which received pretty positive reviews, while La Grenouille received probably the best ones. But I still turn to the users here, which have infinitely more experience with absinthes than anyone I know.

So my question to you guys is which one of these two should I pick? Is there a huge difference in quality between them or is it only that someone prefers one over the other due to different liking?

Or alternatively which one from this eshop http://4bar.cz/nabid...1:5/page-1.html would you recommend? (Preferably with price under 1000).

Thank you very much.

La Grenouille has the highest rating and is best choice of the three.  But the other two are good.

Since you are in the Czech Republic, I would recommend you also see this Forum:

Martin is a first class distiller and from my limited experience, a first class gentleman.  That's not to dismiss either of the other products or their makers.

Let us not forget Stefano though. It was his recipe.

I agrre with you about the quality of la grenouille, and I really like it.

But don't you think if it's for a first time, a Mansinthe would be be better ? I mean, The lavander flavor of la grenouille is very special, and I know many people who don't relly appreciate it. Mansinthe is more balanced and classic one, and produces from "Matter Distillery" are very good made.

But, anyway, the three are good :)

I agree.  l'G is a great absinthe, but it's more appreciated by experienced palates I think.

+1 on Mansinthe. Nice trinity presence, not too complicated for a starter, but I admit it has a bit going for it so both a novice and experienced palate can appreciate it.
