Cajun Magic Report post Posted November 21, 2013 Oh wow, that is one of the best written articles on Absinthe i've seen. It handles the politricks at hand really well too.
xcj Report post Posted November 21, 2013 Hmmmm, I don't think the journalist understands how the European Union works So far everything in the EU definition of Absinthe follows the normal process for the EU, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legislature_of_the_European_Union
TheLoucheyMonster! Report post Posted November 21, 2013 There is no EU definition of absinthe. It failed to pass. That is less important at the moment, than the bilateral agreements the article talks about.
fingerpickinblue Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Although I need to caution everyone interested in this, there is no serious potential ramification of the Russian - Swiss agreement the way I see it. That agreement protects, as far as absinthe is concerned, only the term "Absinthe du Val de Travers". That would not make it impossible for other absinthe producers to make or market absinthe in either country if I am figuring this correctly.
