Hey, everyone. I've been lurking since February and have just now decided to get involved. I've tried a modest amount of absinthe over that time and have developed quite a craving for it.

Brands I've tried; Kübler, Meadow of Love, La Clandestine, Pacifique, Vieux Carre, Vieux Pontarlier and Obsello. I look forward to trying a lot more, wallet willing. CHEERS!

Hi and welcome to the WS. :wave2:
Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

I can't boost that, I'm a transplant, but after three years I love Chicago and feel more at home then any other city I've lived in.

Welcome. Have you found any good absinthe bars in Chicago? Do the liquor stores have good selections?

Binny's? My brother was there last summer and a liquor store had Pacifique, Vieux Carre. I don't remember the rest and if that's the name of the place.

Crow/Baubel. Binny's is great! There are two locations close to me. They normally carry Pacifique, I looked during the shortage last month and at the time they were out. I've seen Duplais Verte, Vieux Portarlier, Kübler and Nouvelle Orleans. Along with some others like Amerique 1912, Mansinthe and a local brand Sirene. I didn't see Vieux Carre at the time and actually asked about, this perticular clerk had not heard of it. But overall Binny's staff is very well informed.

Welcome!

If you don't like anise at all, you're not likely to care for any decent absinthe, as absinthe is an anise flavored drink. It's kind of like asking if there are any good beers that don't taste like hops or malt.----Hiram

Welcome aboard.

I will be in Chicago on the first week of June in search of nice places to sample great drinks.
Any good suggestions?
So I'll continue to drink really good coffee, excellent booze and use profanity in the most inappropriate places not only for my own character development but for the good of the world at large. It is the least I can do for humanity.
