Along with the garish old-timey video effect, these guys are tools.

So it's a deconstructed absinthe cocktail. But it seems awfully close to a fauxsinthe attempt to me.

Attempting to obtain legitimacy via the "deconstructing" bandwagon is replete with :poop: IMO.

I'm on the fence on this one. I don't think the intent here is so much to make an absinthe drink as much as it is to be innovative and experiment with the ingredients; it's a foodie thing. If they used gin instead of vodka and substituted the celery with angelica stalks, it might be a tasty drink.

Yeah I'm leaning on the fence but kinda touchy when the drink is just straight up named Atremisia Absinthium. since we were recently talking about distillate blending I was viewing this as a mixologist version of the same. Also, macerated/infused wormwood...

Deconstruction cocktails seem like a fun idea though.

And a "thank you" to whoever fixed my typo in the title.

I've played a bit with decontructed cocktails. Messed with agar, calcites, liquid nitro, and gels. I did a fun deconstructed sidecar, and a few others. Fun, whimsical, and actually tasted good.

Taking the big taste ingredients, and making them into 'caviars' or pearls can really work well. Makes the bright elements really pop/explode the flavor, right at the point of the tongue you want them to hit too.

I've only seen it on TV. Sounds fun.
Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

just seems like someone is trying to spruce up their martini and make an absinthe martini!
