The bottles are ready, the labels are ready and the boxes are almost ready. I'm hoping that we can take delivery in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately with new products the packaging and labeling can take as long to get right as the product itself!

I keep one around just for a stubborn Boxer that gets "The Gurgle Gut".
Very handy for send a dose of Pepto Bismol down said Boxer's gullet. (Watch out for the post dose, head shake, pink spray)
At the close of the day drink an Herbsaint Frappé,...Legendre Herbsaint, always served when absinthe is called for.

This is what happens when you bring absinthe and syringes into the same sentence.

I always thought the combination of absinthe and syringes would look more like this.

For those that want an exact ratio.
I don't do pointy things in my drink very well though. :)
Nice pic.
Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

Reminds me of those stories about rock bands in the 80s who would inject alcohol intravenously instead of drinking it. (Yes, I'm looking hard at you, Motley Crue.) At least this way, you still get to enjoy the flavor. The Absinthe Bourgeois better watch its tongue, though.

Modifying that a bit, it actually looks like a really convenient (read: cool) way of taking small tastes of absinthe. A measured dose, a little water, et voila! 1 oz of prepared absinthe.

You could make it look a lot less drug like so as not to re-enforce the drug image absinthe already has.. But the concept is sound...

Your pic? if so, well done :)

...If not, nice find

After a longer gestation period than I'd imagined the distillates are finally on their way from France. Once they have cleared customs we will set them live on the site here:

So you get 120 cl of distillates which comes to almost 2 bottles worth? Groovy. Talk about fine tuning your drink. A smidge more this, a bit less of that....perfect!

And that's a very good question, Scott. I expect there may be a run on these once they're made available on the website. On your marks, gentlemen and gentlewomen!

May I suggest offering bottles of macerated coloring herbs as well? i see a bottle for color, but since the coloring herbs do lend themselves quite a bit to the overall flavour and aroma, I think they should be offered individually, to fit with the intention of this kit. You'd probably need only 3 or 4 (pontica, hyssop, lemon balm, and maybe mint), and you could concentrate them enough to put them into smaller/dropper bottles.

Just my $0.02

I saw that bottle for coloring, If you re-read my post, you will see that I was offering an alternative to what was currently available.. A little more customization for us OCD folk.

Each of the coloring herbs has it own effect, and I think you could concentrate each enough so as to only need a few drops to get the right proportion of herbs and coloring effect. Sort of like a natural food coloring, with herbal essences intact.

I suppose one could easily make their own, as only maceration is required...

Maceration in the perfumed spirits or in the base alcohol?

I don't believe Ian is offering base alcohol by itself, so the latter option wouldn't be an option with this kit (which is fine by me, as I think a macerated absinthe would be less satisfactory). As for the former option, that would be somewhat interesting, but take away some of the "control" for the person blending.

You could always get a basket full of the traditional coloring herbs and do it old-school

What I am suggesting is that a highly concentrated macerate be made of the coloring herbs. Not the disitllation herbs.

If you macerate enough of a given herb in base alcohol, it would take a very tiny amount (of neutral spirit) to impart the color, and taste/aromas of said herb to a distillate.

This is what I am suggesting be included. That way you could use a very small amount of colorant and get a large enough effect, so as not to throw off the balance created with the distillates.

Although maybe including the coloring herbs in dry form would be a better way to go.

If you included Pontica somehow it would be a seriously complete set.
