You can have a beer label depicting all kinds of nonsense, a vodka label with some anime kayaking woman, or a wine label with a nude silhouette drawing. But don't you dare say the wrong thing by a punctuation mark on an absinthe label.

I'd pay the extra for US legal JL 1901. I'm crazy that way.

I really like how Ridge corks their bottles, it is easy on tired brains.

I would have eagerly joined in the contempt expressed until recently, when I read something that Alan Moss wrote which gave me pause: that it helps in "ruling out some of the more sensational and misleading approaches to absinthe marketing that have plagued other countries". I'm not quite ready to credit the U.S. government with that level of foresight, but it's for sure that if you allow an unscrupulous marketer too many commas, he'll next want a pork chop or lucy in the sky with diamonds.

I have a feeling the Jades will not be priced at $100+ per bottle when they hit shelves here. Jade NO seems to be under $100 where it is available in the U.S. Hopefully we may even see a price drop in Lucid once all the Jades are available on the shelves here.

Found it: It's Hi-Time Wine Cellars. Jade NO is $99.99 (well, it IS under $100, technically speaking).
They also have Leopold's, Duplais, VC, St George, Obsello and a bunch more I've never tried. But no Ridge or Pacifique.
