Hi all,
It looks like you've got a great community here. I'm on a few cigar boards under the same username, so some of you might recognize me from elsewhere if you're into that kind of thing. I used to get a couple of bottles of Absinthe a year about ten years back and was considering making another purchase. I found this site while researching some of the new brands. It looks like the industry has developed considerably in breadth and quality of product from the last time I made a purchase, so I'm looking forward to trying some of the new offerings.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum!

The quality of products has changed a good bit in the one year I've been buying. The OK of yesterday, is good now, and the good of yesterday is freaking awesome today. One of them, VC, being local to you.

Thanks for pointing out the Vieux Carré. I hadn't even considered domestic Absinthes up to this point since there weren't very many of any quality when I was drinking before. I guess I will have research them as well. I was thinking of picking up a bottle of Doubs Mystique or the the Jade PF 1901, but it's good to know there are hassle free options as well.

Ridge, Delaware Phoenix, Pacific, Gnostalgic, and Leopold are all making highly acclaimed absinthe is the USA. In many cases you can forget what they did a year or two ago, now thay are making great stuff.

EP, and the other European makers haven't rested on their laurels either.

Hi! :wave2:
Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

Welcome from a fellow PAer.

VC is a finely-crafted, albeit somewhat untraditional, absinthe. Great value for the price--I always have a bottle on hand. And the distillery, Philadelphia Distilling, is just outside Philly. Call up for a visit sometime; the master distiller, Rob Cassell, is good people.
