I love mandolin. Wish I had never sold the 1921 snakehead I had. Try this and this. And here's the first 5 minutes of what just may be the most beautiful mandolin tune I've ever heard.

At least two guys know it. B)

Now 3 B)

Those pieces are awesome! Love the tremelo work there. I see i have a new project ahead of me. Won't be picking up the fiddle or banjo for a bit. Thanks FPB. Really like to try This one too. Is that you playing guitar in the last one at the park? 21 Snakehead aye? Kewl. I had the chance to play a July 9 1923 Lloyd Loar for a bit. Sweatin bullets the whole time. Could barely hold onto the pick

The room it smelled heavy of drinkin',

and the sad silent song, made the hour twice as long,

as I waited for that sun to go sinkin'.

I'm flattered you would even think so. No, that's Dean Magraw. He's insane... nothin' that boy can't do with a D28. I saw the duo of he and Peter Ostroushko in a hotel meeting room in the early 90s. If you like his stuff check out Buddies Of Swing, and The Mando Boys, if you can find them. Mando Boys is nuts... an old fashioned mandolin orchestra.

I'm with you. Those kind of instruments always take your breath away. Amongst the great ones I've tried, I once got to handle the most pristine Gretsch White Penguin that I am aware of. I literally handed it back within moments (not really an electric guitar guy anyway). I just didn't want to be responsible.

03:58 - 04:43 --- Bottle and glass to the right
05:05 - 05:45 --- Bottle and glass to the right along with the coolest 10 seconds ever
07:45 - 08:13 --- No bottle and glass to the right
10:35 - 11:28 --- They're baaaa-aaaaack!

Started off great and then got worse and worse with the saddest ending ever - I wanna effing kill myself. Two thumbs down. Maybe a drink'll cheer me up...

Funny anyone should resurrect this thread. Just last night, I ran into my old mandolin teacher. The first time I've seen him in about 18 years. A way cool dude and competent mando player in a bunch of styles.

Man, that is one hot picker for sure.

For your viewing pleasure.

I really like the music in it. Does anyone know the tune?

[Gymnopédies & Gnossiènnes by Erik Satie.
