Hi everyone, we are Bill and Christy (shocking discovery eh?) and we live in NE metro Atlanta.

I got the urge to try absinthe a couple months ago, not sure exactly why it hit then but it did. I talked to Christy about it and she was scared because of all the silliness surrounding it but I told her it was all BS.

Anyways, I was dumb and didn't make a list the first time I went to the liquor store and ended up with a bottle of Grande Absente. :angry2:

Somehow we decided we still wanted to try and bought a bottle of Kübler next.

Mucho better.

As if by instinct I had to perform the other Noob act of freezing the last 3rd of the bottle and we were met with gooey crystals of mouth numbing yuck.

After 2 strikes (on me) we moved up to Leopold Bros. and are on our 2nd bottle.

Tomorrow a bottle of Pacifique and Ridge blanche (wanted to try another clear one) will be here and I will be ordering some Meadow of Love and Ridge verte with the tax return.

This experience has been great, Christy doesn't drink much but loves  and our weekend evenings have been quite pleasant. We can't wait to try other good brands.

I think it's great that so many distillers are represented here too, very cool!

Welcome!

If you don't like anise at all, you're not likely to care for any decent absinthe, as absinthe is an anise flavored drink. It's kind of like asking if there are any good beers that don't taste like hops or malt.----Hiram

Howdy do :wave2:

The room it smelled heavy of drinkin',

and the sad silent song, made the hour twice as long,

Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.
