Thought I should check in to say hi and thanks for such a great site. Just ordered two bottles for my boyfriend's birthday and I don't think I could of done it without the wealth of info here. We are both new to absinthe and I'm looking foreward to getting more familiar with it!

Isn't that where they distill absinthe with both wormwood and lonely dental floss?

Wonderful! We look forward to the meeting. I should think your favorite liquor store should have easy access to both the blanche and the verte. If they don't stock them, tell 'em the State Warehouse carries them in less expensive 6-bottle cartons now and the new tax laws have made it even less expensive (it should cost you about $59 for the verte).

Thanks everyone!

The stores I talked to either refused to do it, or said I had to buy by the carton, the other stores I didn't get to all close by 6pm. So I gave up and ordered online.

Boo! Hiss! Ridge Verte is the latest addition to my personal top 10 list, but even if it were sheep piss I wouldn't have anything to do with a local merchant who won't stock a product made by a local producer even when a customer so requests. You'd better believe my local retailer would get an earful if they suddenly stopped carrying Leopold's. (Oh, and welcome.)

Love it baubel, it's so true; the main reason why the plan is to eventually recluse myself in the mountains. The best I can find here is Lucid, and only one place had it.

Seems like quite a few people here are from the western/NW/Rockies area which is really nice. Most people I talk to don't even know where Montana is...

I'm so sorry to hear this. The MT State Warehouse offers "broken cases" of local spirits meaning that a liquor store can order one bottle at a time if they wish. I'm sorry you had to order a product made in your own state online. That is unfortunate to say the least. You are most welcome on the Ridge when you are in the area. It will be a pleasure to meet you.

Actually, the Seattle area is home to US Absinthe and WS. What better place to grow alpine herbs than the Rockies? By both design and good fortune, the Northwest is a great place to be.

Hopefully it will come down here. This warm winter hurt our hunting season, was looking foreward to a freezer full of elk but alas, we didn't even catch a glimpse of one.
