With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.

I know you hate phones, so I had to call and tell you in person! But here as well, friend.

Happy Birthday, Joe! Enjoy the props and set construction today!

It was a magnificent day, indeed. I was soundly nailed in the forehead by a staple propelled by a table saw. Yes, the staple stuck. Yes, I was wearing my safety glasses. No, I was not wearing a combat helmet. Very few brains leaked out.

Thank you, dear friends. You have given me more joy than you can possibly know and far more than I deserve. (Even Ron's phone call made in the middle of a Lowe's lumber run, pre-brain staple).

 To you all.

It's often stupid little things that can hurt you with power tools! That little staple could have caused a lot of damage were it an inch lower, and you weren't wearing glasses. I remember hitting a nail with a router once; the tree had grown AROUND the nail, completely hiding it within the trimmed to size piece of lumber. At 25,000 RPM, the razor-sharp bit hitting that nail causing a kick-back and near loss of grip that lifted and twisted the router up to eye-level with the bit about 4" from my face. After 22 years of working with tools every day, I still hold on tight and don't take short-cuts! Glad you had a great day Joe! That glass of Ridge hit the spot last night.
