A few years ago, I was in Ikea looking for some glasses for an upcoming tasting I was going to do with some friends. It was then that I noticed the Pokal wine glasses. With the exception of a reservoir, the wine glasses looked more like absinthe goblets than anything I'd seen before (at the time). I bought a six pack of the glasses, in addition to some other glasses, and called it the day.

After about six months of using the glasses and really enjoying them, I decided I wanted more. I went back to find them, but they were gone. That was in 2008. Now they are back for the low price of $1.50 each:

Indeed.

Very elegant!

Yes, I'm Krinkles the Clown on an absinthe a beer bender.

You got a problem with that?

Quite Nice.

When absinthe first started to catch on I doubt that it had specific glasses. I think cafe water glasses and other wine glasses would've suited absinthe just fine in the days before the green fairy got one of her own.

My first absinthe glasses were champagne flutes.
