I know there's a few of you into antiques. I thought it would be good to have a thread on Pitchers, so please share photos and details of what you have.

Here's one that is perhaps the ugliest I've ever seen. It's a stoneware monkey, made for use with absinthe. I picked up in Pontarlier over the weekend. My wife covered her eyes when she saw it.
I can't say that I blame her. It's amazing the plane didn't crash with this demonic talisman aboard.

That's one of the most gorgeous pictures of a pitcher I have ever seen :)

I don't care for zoomorphic pitchers, but this one is a very fine piece
Absinthe makes me a different man. Why shouldn't he also have his two glasses ?
Unless Absomphe-related, if it's about old things, you can ask me

Nice! You do have some very nice stuff. I wish some modern day pottery guy would make absinthe friendly pitchers.

I'm waiting for Hed to weigh in on this one.

I know it sent Tish out of the room screaming.

I got a couple of the pitchers that Cheryl had for awhile. I don't know if she still has them or if they are still being made. They worked very well and not too heavy. Delaware Phoenix is inscribed around the base of the things. I like mine fine.
Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

That is a great looking piece! I have never seen another like it before. The condition looks perfect.

For a Christmas gift, I will be getting one of the more common chien headed ones. I'll be really happy to have it regardless.

I was distracted by candy.

I saw two Ricard pitchers at an antique shop a few weeks ago. $20 bucks each and a less than caramel brown color that I didn't find appealing. They did have "Ricard" written on them. It's been a while since I've made a pitcher, let alone anything at the studio but that is a nice idea. Maybe I'll give it a whirrrrl.

The best part is Baubel, if you can make one with a pin-hole opening, it will be great for absinthe.
It's actually easier than forming ice blocking edges and such. The classic "C'est l'heure" pichets were like this, with a high curved front to catch the ice, but a super-thin hole for a brouilleur-like stream. I can see 'em in all those Baubel-colors as I type!

 at first sight!

Scott, if you ever want to part with it, please put me on the list of those who'll go 12 rounds to beat out anyone else for first in line to buy it.

I like these bulldog pitchers... they have so much personality. This one is the natural color of the stoneware, not the more colorful white and blue glossy glaze. I enjoy these more natural colors. The openings on these is a bit larger diameter than other absinthe pitchers, so you have to go a bit slower with the pour.
