I think Brian posted about this a while ago, but it would definitely be a bar I'd hang out at.

I can't vouch for that, found it on Google, but I'm sure someone will probably answer.

A new article in the Village Voice. Bartender has visits from 'crazy obsessives' from WS!
LINK

A snipit from the article QUOTE:
Do you have to deal with any crazy absinthe obsessives?

Yeah, the Wormwood Society is probably the number-one absinthe forum in the world. It's ran by a bunch of absintheurs, if you will. They found Maison Premiere and most of them are really, really into it. They like to talk about absinthe and share it with other people and they appreciate that there's a venue now that dispenses it and observes the traditional service and quality. I definitely get those guys in here and they're usually really nice.

Not like cocktail geeks?

They're actually a lot nicer than the cocktail enthusiasts who drill you and play "stump the bartender" all the time. I've had people come in and bring me pre-ban absinthe and really cool antiques. It's been really interesting to hang out with people from the absinthe world

Apparently, Zman is getting a little help in the distillery these days.

One of my favorites is probably the Pacifique Absinthe Verte from Washington, made by Tempus Fugit Spirits.

Any ink is good ink, Marc. ;) I'll straighten them out in a couple of weeks.

Thanks.

If you don't like anise at all, you're not likely to care for any decent absinthe, as absinthe is an anise flavored drink. It's kind of like asking if there are any good beers that don't taste like hops or malt.----Hiram

Maison Premiere was simply wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Initially, they brought our glasses of Ridge pre-louched but were delighted to let us do the duties. While the clientele' was mostly hipsters, they welcomed these two country rubes, probably because we were in the company of the consummate Gentleman. Brooks met us at MP to share a couple of very brief hours.

Their fountain is almost as beautiful as the lovely people running the joint.

...who could, I have no doubt, show those alleged "hipsters" what being truly hip is all about.

Nice photo, btw.

Holy formaldehyde. Somewhere around age 50 (give or take a few years), what you see in the bathroom mirror no longer has any connection to reality.

The camera, sadly, does not lie. What an instructive photograph! Brooks, now on the cusp of 60, needs a new wardrobe:

By contrast, Joe and Jules look younger than springtime! Jules, of course, turned 29 last week. Joe retains his youthful glow by thinking only pure thoughts.

I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

I'd want a fountain done in Austin limestone, using Swagelok 316 10Kpsi fittings and 316L control lines. :)
