Not time yet for absinthe but the newest offerings from the New York Dolls and Ziggy Marley are a nice mix to go with the second pot of coffee :hyper:

Recently the catalog of Jesus and Mary Chain was rereleased on CD,

remastered and on "enhanced" CDs, this means a DVD on the flip side of the CD. This is just the videos for each CD, eh...

Anyway, I put aside some $$s and bought 'em all today,

holy-crap am I in fedback/distortion heaven right now!

This band had a sound, and the references to Velvet Underground and surf bands from the early 60s are ear candy. This is definitely one of the best bands from the mid 80s, noise and attitude.

I will be fondly remembering my school days tonight with these albums, well what I can remember of those days...HA, which is where a glass or three of absinthe will fit in. :drunk:

Mojo Nixon

Mushroom Maniac!!!

Rockabilly?

I don't know what I would call Mojo,

other than Great.

Elvis is everywhere,

Elvis is everything,

Elvis is everybody,

Elvis is still the King.

Rockabilly is the closest term I could find to Mojo. Maybe Redneck Rockabilly? I also love the soundtrack to the old PC game Redneck Rampage. What a fun game! You raise your energy level by eating moon pies and drinking beer. The evil culprits of the game are the aliens who abducted your prize cow. You also have to avoid the beergut sheriff and crazy locals who shoot at you and say, "Git off muh laa-nd!"

Listening to Roky Erickson & the 13th Floor Elevators tonight. Gotta love a band that features an electric jug. Now that's some psychedelic redneck stuff going on there!

A tour without Jello isn't a DK tour. Kind of like all these shows the Misfits have been playing lately. Okay, I still go them, but the kids don't understand that it's not really the Misfits. Sometimes I feel very old. I keep waiting for one of these kids at the shows to ask if me if I'm someone's mom.

Oh yea, and going nuts once when the Circle Jerks opened for Social Distortion,

everyone thought I was odd.

Actually, Screaming Trees were the other opening band that night,

best band from Seattle, yes I mean that, I have to rank that as a top show of all time. One of the two best at least.
