Well, since I sadly polished off my bottle of Lucid this morning (it's a wonderful I've found to go out for a nice drive at first light while it's still cool; no one on the mountain roads but me for a free, swift drive then to come home and mellow with a nice glass of absinthe as the sun rises up over the horizon. It's almost magical; corny I know but it really is fantastic. <3 ), and I've hit every store in town and nobody has ANY absinthe. So I was hoping you guys might be able to direct me to a site I can simply order from and perhaps some varieties to try. ^^

- If you're in the US, I would order Meadow of Love or Walton Waters from either:

Catskill Cellars

or

Astor Wines & Spirits

- If you're in Europe, I'd go with Jade Eddy, Jade PF 1901, or Jade VS from Liquers de France.

What he said. Catskill offers free shipping at a certain price point.

Also Pacifique ordered from Catskill Cellars is quite nice. My next order from them will be Meadow of Love.
The serivce and emails make you feel like you are dealing with a nice lady in a very picturesque country store. And that is because you are.

Amerique 1912 from Great Lakes Distillery if you are in the Wisconsin or Illinois area....soon to be in Minneapolis, too. Two award winning absinthes. A verte and a rouge. Both are excellent!

I hear the recent batches have improved, but I bought a bottle of each last summer and they were really bad. They now just sit and collect dust. Very disappointing as that distillery has a good reputation with their other products.

Sirene is currently the way to go if you live in the midwest and want something local/semi-local. That's a good absinthe!

Although I don't have any suggestions on what to try, I do have a link for you. Drink Up NY has a large selection of absinthe, at a relatively good price. I would suggest checking them out.

You got them to ship to you? Their FAQ page says they don't ship to TX.

I try to follow WS rules with the vendors are used. Cat Skills Cellars doesnt promote a single crapsinth.

Back on topic,
Buy one of each of the absinthes that Catskills cellars carries, and you will be fine. Specially their Selection of American absinthes, even though they are missing 3 absinthes they really should find a way of stocking.

FYI, I'm going to split this thread to get it back on track. The review discussion will be broken out elsewhere. It can now be found here.

Actually, I doubt anyone will be able to try everything.

Luckily having a second person with me, we can each get something different, trade sips AND share cooties. We're getting very good a the divide and conquer method of tasting. :dev-cheers:
