I just finished this novel, which is about an ATF task force dealing with the illegal gun business between the US & Mexico. It's interesting that much of it takes place in Arizona and describes how easy it is to obtain firearms there, in light of the recent tragic shooting. What was surprising, though, was a chapter towards the end in which the main character attends a raucous wedding/reception where absinthe is served. A fair amount of the (short) chapter focuses on the drink and preparation; mostly accurate, although the "effect" of thujone is mentioned. Not a big deal, but it gave me a smile, as it was such an unexpected part of the story.

I'm reading the book right now .... T. Jefferson Parker is one of my favorite authors.
Will look forward to the absinthe!
