Retrogarde Report post Posted July 2, 2010 A local bar is showing off absinthe spoons made by a Maine based metal working collective starting tonight. Click here to have a look at what they came up with. I didn't know about it until after they had started crafting the pieces, or else I would have given them some tips on actual usage. At one point they were asking me to write up a quick history of absinthe spoons, but they never got back to me on that. Oh well. At least these folks won't be in favor of lighting the absinthe on fire!
Brian Robinson Report post Posted July 2, 2010 Same thing here. They'd contacted me to ask me some questions about fabrication and such, but never got back to me.
Derrick Report post Posted July 2, 2010 From the picture I saw, they look more like weapons than functional spoons.
anonymous green peony Report post Posted August 14, 2010 I really liked Adam Amara's and Naomi McNeil's spoons the best. I'm not quite sure if Amara's spoon would work but it's quite lovely. Beautiful work. Naomi McNeil's piece seems like it could work more as a grille?? Very reminiscent of a sea shell and quite lovely too.
