Found these beauties a while ago.

Kept one for myself, sold my old one to a friend (the stamping on the new one is better :) ) and the other one to another friend :)

That is a wonderful spoon Garrett. I love the delicate notch on the underside where it rests on the rim. Elegant. Congrats!

And here we have a guy who fears to use ancient spoons, and yet has the best example of what I consider to be the good example of a vintage spoon you can use safely :)

Good find, the Boulenger spoons are just lovely :)

Talking about the Boulenger spoons (my favorites) :

1 et 2 - Variants of the Trous 14 in sterling silver with chiseled handles and tête de minerve hallmarks reversed right/left. Clément-Aubert.
3 - Variant of the Trous 14 for Hotel Regina. Boulenger.
4 - Trous 13. Boulenger (hallmark at right).
5 - Trous 13 monogrammed at back. Boulenger (hallmark at left).
6 - Trous 14. Boulenger.
7 - Trous 15. Travaux. Very rare.

A few Boulenger hallmarks:

Pretty neat design.

My first impression was that it reminded me of one of those "wheel-O" toys.

Just a first impression.

Humpf... I still have an interview of Pierre Gonalons on how he came by the designs for the Pernod products. That being said, he did not want the interview published without the agreement of Pernod, which they never provided.

A Feuilles d'Absinthe #3. The Art Nouveau design elements are simply beautiful in this series. It's also just a great
spoon to use; the water breaks up into multiple little splatters which batter the absinthe surface perfectly.

I feel so fortunate that something as special as this would find its way to me, thanks to a great guy/good friend I met here when I was new.

There's no shortage of genuine, smart, creative and awesome people in the absinthe community.

Got this interesting piece yesterday.  It's Sterling Silver, Dutch, from the late 1800s.  It was advertised as an 'absinthe spoon'.  What would normally be the 'stem' of the spoon has been curled into a ring.

While I doubt the veracity of the advertising, the price was still attractive enough to make it worthwhile to add to my collection. :)

I don't use spoons and even I would have made a grab for that one. Nice.
