Absinthe in Brazil - do you know ?

Recommended Posts

I was just reading that absinthe was introduced in Brazil by a Brazilian culinary expert and restaurant business man called Lalo Zanini in 1999. There is a wikipedia entry about this guy Lalo Zanini. There is an entry in Wikipedia about "absinto" (the Portuguese word) Absinto.

I was asking some Brazilian friends, they told me that it is prohibited again in Brazil, and people get absinthe illegaly through Paraguay connections black market.

Does anyone have any real facts about absinthe in Brazil ?

What I do know is that people there do not drink correctly.... It is popular with young adults, because they want to get wasted very fast..... they drink it straight with ice, that is all about I know of this subject in my home country....
