Joe Legate Report post Posted March 19, 2010 They appear to be standard T-corks. Particularly wonderful things if the booze comes with a wine cork.
OMG_Bill Report post Posted March 19, 2010 The plastic t-corks I use seem to work very well and not near the hassle of real cork. They haven't gotten brittle after being exposed to strong spirits....yet.
Gruene Fee Report post Posted March 19, 2010 Oh, okay. I use a cork-puller that doesn't shred or puncture the corks, which makes it a little easier to remove/re-use without them falling apart. I will start keeping my T-corks. Duh!!!
OMG_Bill Report post Posted March 19, 2010 The bottles I've used are often different inside diameters at the opening and these plastic ones seem to do a good job. If they impart an unpleasant taste or aroma, I've not noticed it yet. They fit every bottle I use so far. some are pretty snug and some not so much. Some of my cork t-corks have broken when they are used in a too small bottle. <shrug>
Derrick Report post Posted March 19, 2010 I have all this booze and yet nobody ever wants to help me drink it. I know it's a tough job not many would volunteer for, but please consider me on standby any time you need assistance. If you ever want to stop by, just PM me and we can set something up (that goes for anybody). Along with all that wonderful booze, I spy some extraordinary crap, too. You are an amazing man, Derrick. Yes, I have my share of crap. I have an impulse buying problem.
Phoenix Report post Posted March 19, 2010 Definitely some great stuff in that O_o What batch of Belle Amie is it ? 1 or 2 ? I wish I had as many DP as you have... Fscking shipping It's all Belle Amie 2. Personally, I prefer the second run to the first, though they are so different from each other it's almost hard to imagine they're the same brand. What kind of corks are you using on those opened bottles, and why? Joe's right, they're plastic T-corks. They're designed for distilled spirits and I use them to recork bottles that come with real corks. I've had one or two standard t-corks break on me too, so I bought a bag of them at my local homebrew store. Here's a better picture of the type that I'm using. OMG_Bill Report post Posted March 19, 2010 Yep, those are what I'm using. Dang sturdy units.
Awful Report post Posted May 7, 2010 It ain't much, but its enough to piss off my girlfriend. By the way, that 1960's Jack-in-Box... The hinge is worn down, so when you close it, it could pop out at any time. Could be a few minutes, could be a week. I have a friend who is terrified of it. Whenever she comes over, I close it up and sit it on the table in front of her... Looks a bit like Absomphe.
