This Chartreuse cocktail from the Savoy Cocktail book was quite tasty. An equal portion of lemon cuts the sweetness of the Chartreuse, and the dash of Absinthe gives it a little extra zip.

Biter Cocktail

1 1/2 oz Gin
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
3/4 oz Green Chartreuse
Dash of Absinthe (used Verte de Fougerolles)

Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.
