Sippin' some awesome absinthe, some really good beer, a couple tasty jalapeno cheese dawgs, and watching the extended collectors edition of Avatar. I forgot I had this one. Complete with the nice little triple dvd collectors box.

Wow, what a visually stunning movie.

Probably gonna take my sweetie to the matinee show to see Noah tomorrow.

The room it smelled heavy of drinkin',

and the sad silent song, made the hour twice as long,

as I waited for that sun to go sinkin'.

Last week I had my annual French film binge to finally say hello to spring and goodbye, at least rhetorically, to a too-long and grim winter here in the armpit of northeastern Wisconsin. Louched up a few batches of absinthe with the movies -  Le grand amour and Yoyo by Pierre Etaix with the last of the Belle Amie - two beautiful comedies one satisfying absinthe, the Marseilles trilogy (Marius, Fanny, and Cesar) by Marcel Pagnol with BdJ and Jade 1901 - feel good tear-jerkers all, Port of Shadows (Marcel Carne) with Authentique - Jean Gabin at his most irascible, and Cocteau's Orpheus (one of my all-time favorites) and Beauty and the Beast with a bit of La Coquette - dark fantasy galore. Can hardly wait til my post Tax day Ealing Comedy binge. Need more absinthe - always need more absinthe. So much absinthe, so little time.

If we make it, we can sit back and relax...

Had a nice blanche yesterday before heading to the afternoon matinee to watch Godzilla.

Really good show.

And there were only about a dozen people in there, which made it even better.

I plan on checking it out asap too- it's going to have to work pretty hard to top Kitamura's Godzilla: Final Wars though! That movie is my jam. Just about all of his movies are, tbh.
