Sipping Absinthe :) Watchin' Movies

Recommended Posts

5 favorites watched this week in a frenzy of sloth:

The Testament of Doctor Mabuse (Fritz Lang),

Orpheus (Jean Cocteau),

Seven Beauties (Lina Wertmuller),

High and Low (Akira Kurosawa),

Harakiri (Kobayashi).

In any order.

My eyes hurt. Too many movies, too little time.

Meadow of Love,

Marteau,

Ridge Verte,

l'Ancienne,

Belle Amie.

In any order.

That's better.

"Life of Pi" is awesome, as is the book. Tried to get my school to add it to the curriculum a few years back. Fell on deaf ears.

Watched "Hunger" and part of "Venture Brothers: Season One". I have to balance the drama with a dose of aftercare silliness.

Drag Me To Hell and Mansinthe. Speaking of Sam Raimi there's a Poltergeist remake and Army of Darkness 2 coming up. He's producing the Poltergeist remake, could be interesting. :g:

I suppose it's nice to know where the heat went.

I've had clouds and thunderstorms for the last few days.

Stay cool.

(...and do tell if Jack is any good, will ya??)

Sweet summer rain.... like God's own mercy..

Finally moved in and cooled it down tolerably.

Jack was pretty good if you like those kind....and I do.

While listening to the rain today watching The Jade Warrior (really good) with a short glass of L'Ancienne.

"A clever mashup of quirky Finnish fantasy and Chinese martial arts, with spectacular swordplay and supernatural thrills."

A few La Berthe De Joux 2013 with Dracula (1979) Frank Langella, Laurence Olivier, Donald Pleasance... I cant believe this is the first time I am watching this..(Ive watched all others including Murnau's - Nosferatu and FF Coppola's version) This is a great movie with a top cast, sublime cinematography set in 1913 as with the accompaniment which I struggled to stop drinking! Now... lets look up Wuthering Heights. I havent seen Andrea Arnolds version but I have it ready to watch..

Yep, great show, it's especially rewarding if you've read the novels. I love the nods and homages paid by the show.

I enjoyed Drag Me to Hell quite a bit. Wouldn't Army of Darkness 2 be...Evil Dead 4?

It depends on how you count them my hued-Manatee friend! Sequel/remakes and all. The Evil Dead (2013) is still in the same universe and a continuation of the franchise story.
