Everything is better with bacon

Recommended Posts

I finally tried chocolate covered bacon at the fair. It was not as good as I thought it would be, but I really did not like the way they executed it. The bacon was very good and was icy cold and coagulated and everything.

NOT everything I'm afraid. I ordered PEI mussels, in a dark cafe...I don't eat meat, only seafood.

These noodleheads put bacon bits and shredded ham in the mussels. I didn't see it, but imagine my shock at first taste. It was horribly overpowering, and just wrong, despite bacon being the one meat item I miss!

(I also was pissed that they would do this and NOT mention it on the menu.)

Why do you miss bacon? :g:

I'm not supposed to eat bacon either, doctors suggestion but it happens every now and then.

But, I don't know what a PEI mussel is either. <shrug> ;)

I had shaved champagne ice on oysters-the-half-shell. I gotta tell ya, it fuckin' rocked my boat.

Prince Edward Island mussel, I suppose.

Though why those would be superior to our indigenous examples, I can't imagine.

Anyway, I'll bet ours don't have beady eyes or flapping heads. B)

Ditto the answer above. I'm pretty sure those are Prince Edward Island.

And :laf: at the beady eyes and flapping heads.

Karen and I went to a famous PEI Lobster Supper a few years ago. The mussels were "all you can eat". I finished the plateful I was served and have not had one since. Something about the texture .....
