Welcome me!

Glad to be a member of the forum. I've been using the site for a while, and have been itching for absinthe since back in the pre-ban days. I suppose this is where the journey begins.

Wouldn't that make you like 140 years old? Welcome old timer

Welcome! Welcome! ...and while I'm at it - Welcome!

What should you try first? IMHO - Absinthe! By all means try absinthe.

Be certain it is an authentic absinthe. Avoid fakes. Read THIS and pick one.

They are listed in descending order.

Good advice, Swatantra! You may also look over the very recent thread of our Top Ten Favorites. That's something we'll never completely agree on but you can bet, they are all excellent absinthes.

Welcome to the Forum.

Er, maybe s/he meant... pre-post-ban?!

Welcome, Coomba!

As for your question, you'll notice the same few absinthes at the tops of many of the top ten lists-- tons of info here (and at that other great absinthe site...;).

Well come.

I hope you'll find something good to start with from the threads pointed out for you.

Now get yourself an avatar, louche up a glass and enjoy the company here.

So, now the obvious newcomer question, where's the "what should I try first" section?

Welcome, friend.

There are useful links above in this thread. I would just like to add that, as a newcomer to absinthe, you may feel a bit of "sticker shock" when you go to order. But please, do yourself a favor and spring for a bottle of good absinthe. It's worth the cost to get a high-quality product.
