This is tough. I assume that we only list products currently produced/ available. This is actually kinda tough and I can't say all of them will be in perfectly numerical order.

1. Belle Amie

2. Eichelberger 70

3. Brevans

4. Clandestine Recette Marianne

5. Jade Edouard

6. Duplais Balance

7. Marteau

8. Montmartre

9. Doubs Mystique

10. La Ptite

Sad as it is, I've still never had Blanchette or Roquette. And PF1901 doesn't make my list because I just plain don't like it.

If L'Artisanale were a valid choice I think all of us would have had it in our lists. And I would have had Wormwood Blanche, definitely. And if vintage absinthe is valid then I know Absomphe would have listed Pernod 1914.

But you do bring up another absinthe I've sadly not tried: Helfrich.

What makes Berger HG then, if not the best of CO's of heyday? Nowhere there was stated that Top Ten should refer to current situation on the market, the fact that some absinthes are not available, either because of being discontinued in a sense, or having the status of vintage, does not make them not exist anymore.

Taking argumentation lessons from Studiofox, eh? ;)

I believe the intention was,"Your 10 favorite COs currently available."

Now, that's not difficult, is it? B)

I would think the point of this exercise is to give newbies an idea of what sort of drinks tend to be preferred by the locals. How useful is this to anyone if there's stuff in people's lists that's extremely difficult to get ahold of? I'm sure some people here could post their entire top 10 COs without having a single absinthe that can be acquired outside of Oxy samples or auctions.

Zacktly, I'm as green as tomorrows chlorophyll and I'm waiting out this thread with (baited?) breath, cross referencing each new list as it appears and I am finding these lists incredibly help full. I don't think excluding or allowing hard to find/exclusive brands or prohibitively expensive types from the lists is an issue as I am capable of determining what is available from what is not, and what is within my budget.

If I am talking out of turn please accept my apologies but being a certified newbie a thought I would add my two cents.

These lists are very helpful. Find the ones that appear most and juggle your money.

On that note, if you buy some mentioned on this list and don't care for it........someone will gladly take it off your hands. ;)

I'm still working on my list.

I believe the intention was,"Your 10 favorite COs currently available."

Exactly.

The idea was to replace the old thread that was done more than a year ago with an updated one (albeit less scientific) to show people what our current favorites are.

Obviously we could make a list of our favorite HGs or vintage brands we've tried, but that wouldn't really be beneficial to anyone new. ;)

It's very interesting to look back and see what has had some staying power during this influx of high quality brands, and what's dropped completely off the map.

My list would look much like T73's.....but I haven't tried the Belle Amie yet. I am one of the oddballs who likes Angelique so I would substitute that for the #6 Blanchette.

Oh, I am sure his list and mine will strongly differ.

If I get all these brand-new offerings I need to finish and/or reformulate the list, I will

I just tried the Roquette for the first time, and it exceeded all my expectations. Wonderful!

My revised top ten list because I was a dumass, and forgot to include the Doub Mystique the first time around...must be the excessive thujone intake , or more likely, the usual senility.
